Point Iroquios Lighthouse and Whitefish Point Light Station

The next day we crossed the Mighty Mac for some UP fun!

First stop - Point Iroquois Lighthouse.  This lighthouse was completely renovated and is set up to show what life was like in it's hey day.  From the tower, there are beautiful views of Lake Superior and Canada.

Next stop - Whitefish Point Light Station and Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum.  This lighthouse has been operating continuously since 1861.  It is the oldest operating lighthouse on Lake Superior.  The United States Coast Guard still operates the light, but the rest of the campus is owned and maintained by the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society.  The campus consists of the lighthouse, the shipwreck museum, the crews quarters (where you can stay) and a store.
